We negotiate every day but to be a successful negotiator in the legal setting means being intentional and being aware. This session will help you be better prepared, learn to look for ways to enhance the value to both parties and ensure your client fares better. We will look at signals from words and behaviors, how to deal with hardball tactics, anchoring and extreme starting proposals, how to ask effective questions, and strategies and techniques for concessions and closing and commitment. You will learn strategies for negotiating over email and wrestle with ethical dilemmas.
