40-Hour Mediation Certificate Program

8:30 AM - 5:30 PM

MARCH: 15, 16, 17, 23 & 24, 2018

Our mediation training is designed for lawyers and non-lawyers alike and is led by experienced mediators and trainers, William Logue and Lorraine Della Porta. This training is focused around experiential learning; each participant will have many opportunities to apply and practice mediation skills and receive feedback. Participants will gain the following skills:

Deeper understanding of mediation as a way to resolve disputes in commercial and business affairs, divorce and child custody cases, employment relationships, union-management contracts, environmental matters, health care issues, public policy debates and other areas

  • Ability to design and provide mediation services in a variety of settings
  • Listening, reframing, defusing and containing emotions and other communication skills
  • Ability to manage interest-based negotiations between two or more parties
  • Each participant receives a binder with training materials and readings.

The Quinnipiac MSW Program is an approved provider of Continuing Education activities for Social Work Licensure in the State of Connecticut as provided for in the Connecticut General Statutes, Section 20-195o(c)-3.  The Quinnipiac MSW Program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. The mediation training also now satisfies the basic mediation training requirement for membership in the Connecticut Council for Non-Adversarial Divorce.  

 Lunch is provided. You must attend all five days of the training.

Next session March 15, 16, 17, 23 & 24, 2018

On or before February 24, 2018 - $1500
After February 24, 2018 - $1750

You will have three payment options: 1) paying in full by credit/debit card, 2) placing a $150 non-refundable deposit by debit/credit card and being invoiced for the difference due 30 days before the start of the training, or 3) being invoiced for the entire amount. Following registration you will receive an automated confirmation email followed several days later by an email asking you to complete a brief questionnaire.
